A 20-year-old vocational student, Muhammad Nur Hakim Mohd Laili, already facing four rape charges, has been hit with two additional sexual crime charges involving a 20-year-old female student.
He pleaded not guilty before Sessions Judge Osman Affendi Mohd Shalleh to charges of raping and engaging in unnatural sexual intercourse with the victim inside an SUV parked by the roadside in Parit Raja between 11pm and 1am on July 27.
The first charge, under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, carries up to 30 years’ imprisonment and whipping, while the second, under Section 377CA, also carries up to 30 years’ jail and whipping upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Sharifah Natasha Syed Ahmad sought RM40,000 bail, but the court granted RM10,000 with conditions including monthly police reporting, surrendering his passport, and refraining from contacting prosecution witnesses.
Defence counsel Mohd Razak Sharif represented Muhammad Nur Hakim, and the case is scheduled for mention on October 16 for document submission.
Previously, on August 18, he was separately charged at Muar Sessions Court with four counts of raping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. He claimed trial and was released on RM20,000 bail.
