Wife Sustained 89 Injuries In Sunway SPK Double Death Case, Post-Mortem Reveals

Date:

Post-mortem findings have revealed severe levels of violence in the deaths of a married couple found at a residence in Sunway SPK, Damansara Kepong, with the wife sustaining dozens of injuries, including defensive wounds.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said autopsies were conducted at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) yesterday to determine the exact cause of death.

“The male victim was found to have sustained 10 injuries, while his wife suffered 89 injuries across her body, including stab wounds and defensive injuries,” he said after launching Op Selamat 25 in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2026 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur today.

Both bodies were released to family members on the same day after the completion of the post-mortem procedures.

Investigation Papers To Be Referred On 16 February

Commenting on the progress of the investigation, Fadil said the case file is expected to be referred to the relevant authorities on 16 February.

“Police are still conducting further investigations, including establishing the actual motive behind the incident,” he said.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to the brutality involved, underscoring the devastating consequences of domestic disputes when left unresolved.

Suspected Murder-Suicide In Bedroom

Yesterday, media reports stated that a 54-year-old man is believed to have killed his 52-year-old wife before taking his own life at their home along Jalan Daun Inai 4, Sunway SPK.

The couple, both locals, were found lying on the bedroom floor in a pool of blood. Police were alerted to the incident at 11.43am.

Sentul district police chief Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari reportedly said initial examinations at the scene found the man with stab wounds to his neck.

The woman was discovered with 13 stab wounds — 10 to the neck, one on her left hand and two on her body.

Authorities believe the incident may have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the couple, with preliminary investigations suggesting the husband fatally stabbed his wife before ending his own life.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
