A woman in Malaysia was left horrified after discovering a dead frog in her drink at a restaurant in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The incident occurred after she ordered a lime plum juice and had already consumed about a quarter of the beverage, mistaking the object at the bottom for a preserved plum.
According to the woman, the drink initially seemed normal, and she assumed the floating object was part of the drink. However, as she continued sipping, she began to feel uneasy and used her straw to stir the contents—only to find a dead frog submerged at the bottom of the glass. “Turns out frogs and plums do look alike—I didn’t even notice it,” she said in disbelief.
Worse still, when she informed the restaurant staff, they reportedly showed no concern. The woman claimed there was no apology, no offer of compensation, and no effort to resolve the matter—just an indifferent attitude. Frustrated, she uploaded a video of the incident to TikTok, criticizing the restaurant’s lack of accountability.
The video quickly went viral, triggering a flood of reactions from netizens. Some joked, calling it “frog-infused special” or a “scene straight out of a horror film,” while others were more serious, condemning the restaurant’s hygiene and insisting it should be shut down.
The woman said she felt nauseated just thinking about possibly ingesting frog remains and spent the night wanting to brush her teeth. Although she did not suffer any physical discomfort, the experience left her deeply disgusted.
Many users urged her to report the restaurant to local health authorities. In response, Negeri Sembilan Health Department Director Zuraida confirmed that food and beverage hygiene is a basic public safety requirement. She encouraged the public to report such cases immediately, assuring that authorities will investigate thoroughly to determine responsibility.
