A woman believed to be suffering from mental health issues went on a rampage at a mamak restaurant in Taman Tasek Damai, Ipoh, early Tuesday morning, attacking workers and causing extensive damage to the premises.
Photos shared on social media showed overturned chairs, broken glass and cutlery scattered across the floor following the incident.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the incident occurred at about 6.30am when the woman asked a worker to transfer money into her bank account. When the worker refused, the woman allegedly became aggressive, punching one employee and stabbing another with a fork.
She then smashed three glass food display containers using a cleaver and took about RM400 from the cash register before being arrested.
The restaurant suffered an estimated RM45,000 in damages. Police later found that the woman had recently been discharged from Taiping Hospital after undergoing psychiatric treatment.
The injured workers sustained injuries to their mouth, cheeks and chest, and were treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital. The woman has since been sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for observation.
Police are investigating the case under Sections 324, 427 and 380 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a weapon, mischief and theft.
