An elderly woman sustained a neck injury after being stabbed by her own daughter in Kampung Segineh, Inas, last night.
Kuala Pilah District Police Chief, Superintendent Muhamad Mustafah Hussin, said authorities received a report from a member of the public around 7:08pm about a family dispute.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, a 50-year-old woman, allegedly stabbed her mother, believed to be in her 80s, in the neck using a sharp object thought to be a can opener.
“The victim was rushed to Rembau Hospital for treatment. Her condition is stable and she remains under medical supervision,” Muhamad Mustafah said.
He added that the motive is still under investigation, and the suspect may have mental health issues. The suspect is currently in custody and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing injury.
According to a source who spoke to Kosmo!, the incident was first noticed by a neighbour who came to check on the mother and daughter. The neighbour reportedly saw the suspect stabbing her mother.
One of the victim’s other children immediately transported her to Rembau Hospital after she sustained injuries to her neck and eyebrow.
