A female tourist has alleged that a resort worker secretly watched and filmed her while she was undressing inside her accommodation on Koh Lipe island in Thailand, sparking outrage after her account went viral on TikTok.
In a series of posts, the woman, identified as Anna, claimed she and her boyfriend realised someone had been peeping from outside their cottage, triggering panic and distress. Videos shared online show the couple visibly shaken as they tried to understand what had happened.
Anna said the pair had already been uneasy after hearing strange noises outside their room over the first three nights of their stay. She added that they initially planned a seven-day holiday but the incident occurred on their third day, prompting them to leave the resort at about 1am to seek alternative accommodation.
She alleged that a staff member filmed her while she was undressing before showering, and suggested the individual involved may not be local. The resort reportedly offered to move them to another room, but the couple refused due to safety concerns.
In an update, Anna said local police had since intervened, interviewed those involved, and identified a suspect, who has now been handed over to immigration authorities for deportation.
She also revealed that the resort has agreed to reimburse part of their expenses, including accommodation and medical costs, while additional compensation for emotional distress is still being assessed. The case has drawn attention online, with Anna urging travellers to remain alert and cautious when choosing accommodation, while stressing the importance of staying calm and not panicking during travel.
