Young Boy Survives Knife Attack to the Neck, Hospitalized in Stable Condition

Date:

A young boy who was severely injured after his throat was slashed with a knife at a house in Parit Raja early yesterday morning is now reported to be in stable condition.

According to authorities, the victim is still receiving treatment at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) in Batu Pahat after undergoing surgery for the injuries he sustained.

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, said the boy is now able to speak but still requires close medical attention.

“So far, police have not recorded a statement from the victim until he has fully recovered. At the same time, investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident,” he said.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. yesterday, when the boy was found seriously injured with a deep cut to his neck, believed to have been caused by a sharp object.

Shahrulanuar said police launched an investigation immediately after receiving a report from the boy’s 40-year-old mother that morning.

According to the mother, she woke up and was shocked to find her son bleeding heavily from his neck before rushing him to HSNI for emergency treatment.

“At this stage, we are investigating the case from all possible angles. It’s still too early to determine the motive behind the incident,” he added.
