Doctor Finds Pubic Lice Infestation So Bad It’s Like ‘Zootopia’ Down There

Date:

A urologist in Taiwan recently shared a shocking case involving an older male patient who returned for a follow-up after previously seeking treatment for sexual dysfunction. The doctor, Gu Fang-Yu, initially thought the patient’s condition had worsened, but the man explained, “I felt some itching down there after visiting a sex worker, and they told me to come back and get it checked.”

When the patient undressed, Dr. Gu was stunned to find a severe infestation of pubic lice, with hundreds of silver-white eggs attached to the hair. “It was like a scene out of ‘Zootopia,’” he remarked.

Dr. Gu shared the story on the social platform Threads, noting that he initially thought the patient was joking. He added with a touch of humor, “Your choice of partner was very… professional,” while also emphasizing that such infections are now relatively rare in Taiwan.

The post quickly went viral, with social media users commenting on the bizarre and cautionary tale. Most agreed that proper hygiene and careful sexual practices are essential, as untreated infestations can lead to intense itching, skin irritation, and even secondary infections.

According to Taipei Veterans General Hospital, pubic lice are blood-feeding parasites that typically reside in pubic hair but can spread to surrounding areas such as the buttocks or, rarely, eyelashes, beard, and armpits. Early treatment is crucial to prevent further discomfort and complications.
