A motorcyclist was caught on camera being thrown over the bonnet of a car during a dramatic crash in north London before getting back on his feet and fleeing the scene.
The collision happened on Moundfield Road in Stamford Hill at around 5.41pm on Sunday, prompting police to attend the area.
CCTV footage showed the bizarre incident unfold when a car stopped near a crossing and the motorcycle suddenly slammed into its right side. The impact sent the rider flying over the vehicle before he landed on the road on the opposite side.
Despite the force of the crash, the man appeared to escape without obvious serious injuries. He quickly got back up and ran away, leaving his motorcycle and one of his shoes behind.
Witnesses were left confused as the rider fled the scene on foot, while a small package could also be seen spilled across the road following the collision. Police later recovered what they described as a quantity of drugs from the abandoned motorcycle.
A photograph from the scene showed an officer holding a clear evidence bag believed to contain items recovered during the investigation.
Police said enquiries remain ongoing as officers work to identify and locate the man. He was described as white, with short dark hair, and was wearing black trousers and a light green top.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation has been urged to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 5527/16Aug.
