Police have released dramatic CCTV footage showing dozens of people running in panic moments after a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man in north-west London.
The victim, identified as Malakai Ferguson-Ramson, died following the attack in the Kilburn area on May 26.
The video, released by the Metropolitan Police, captures what investigators believe may have been some of the victim’s final moments before the fatal incident unfolded.
Footage shows at least 20 people scattering across a residential street in apparent fear as chaos erupted following the stabbing.
Detectives investigating the murder believe many of those seen in the CCTV recording may have witnessed critical moments surrounding the attack and are appealing for them to come forward.
Authorities hope potential eyewitnesses can provide valuable information that may help identify those responsible and strengthen the ongoing investigation.
A 21-year-old man was arrested several days after the incident on suspicion of murder and remains a key focus of the investigation.
Police also arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. However, he has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller urged witnesses not to remain silent, stressing that even small details could prove crucial in securing justice for the victim and his family.
He acknowledged that some people may feel reluctant to speak to police but emphasised that information can be provided through a variety of channels, including anonymously.
“I urge people to think of the grief Malakai’s loved ones are currently experiencing. Information from eyewitnesses could bring us one step closer to justice,” he said.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly individuals visible in the CCTV footage, to contact investigators and assist with the case.
The killing has sent shockwaves through the local community, with officers continuing to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deadly attack.
