A driver was caught on camera running completely naked along a busy motorway in Moscow after allegedly causing a three-car collision involving an Audi, a Mercedes and a Volkswagen.
The bizarre incident occurred on the Russian capital’s Third Transport Ring, where stunned motorists watched as the man sprinted past their vehicles without any clothes on.
Footage showed the driver running along the busy road before appearing to tire and slow down. He later seemed to regain his energy, jumping into the air and raising his arms as he continued his unusual escape.
The man allegedly stripped naked and fled the scene instead of remaining at the crash site. Local reports described his actions as an “epic escape from the scene of the accident”.
A friend reportedly chased after him on foot in an attempt to catch up with the fleeing motorist.
The driver was eventually apprehended and sent for a medical examination, while police questioned him to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and his bizarre reaction.
The Volkswagen driver reportedly suffered a concussion and spinal injury in the crash. It remains unclear whether anyone else was injured.
The Audi driver’s identity and age have not been disclosed, and investigators have yet to establish why he removed his clothes and ran away following the collision.
Temperatures in Moscow were around 16°C at the time of the incident.
Police are continuing their investigation into the three-car collision and the driver’s extraordinary escape. It has also emerged that the motorist was involved in another road accident two years ago.
