One Injured After Light Aircraft Crashes Off Runway

One person was injured after a light aircraft carrying two people veered off the runway at Rocky Mountain Airport in Colorado, United States.

The incident occurred on Thursday, with emergency crews from North Metro Fire rushing to the airport after receiving reports of an aircraft leaving the runway at around 10.30am local time.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-engine aircraft overturned on a grassy area near the runway.

North Metro Fire said there was no smoke or fire reported at the scene, while both occupants managed to get out of the aircraft without assistance.

“One person was taken to hospital for further treatment,” the fire department said.

The incident caused no reported fatalities, although authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances that led to the aircraft veering off the runway.
