Six Dead In Thailand School Shooting, Gunman’s Grandparents Found Dead At Home

Date:

Thai police are investigating how a 15-year-old student gained access to a legally registered firearm used in the deadly shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School, which left six people dead and 22 others injured.

Authorities said the victims included three teachers and three students.

Following the attack on August 7, the teenage gunman reportedly turned the gun on himself. He was rushed to hospital but died on the way, according to local reports.

In a separate development, officers searching the suspect’s home discovered his grandparents dead inside the residence. Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

According to local reports, the teenager had been living with his grandfather since his parents separated during his childhood.

Investigators believe the CZ pistol used in the shooting was legally registered under the grandfather’s name.

Police also recovered two magazines and 34 rounds of unused ammunition among the teenager’s belongings.

Officials confirmed that the firearm was legally licensed and said investigations are ongoing to determine how the teenager obtained access to the weapon, as well as to establish the full sequence of events leading up to the attack.
