A shocking video has recently gone viral online, showing a 12-year-old boy in Africa allegedly destroying his home after his mother confiscated his phone. In the footage, the boy smashes a TV, breaks a toilet, throws chairs, and damages other household items. Reports claim the destruction caused losses of up to $70,000 USD (around NT$2.13 million). While many viewers were stunned, some have questioned the authenticity of the video, asking, “Can a child really cause that much damage?”
According to News18, the clip shows the boy smashing the toilet, breaking floor-to-ceiling windows, and ruining furniture and kitchenware, leaving the entire house in chaos.
The mother reportedly returned home to find the wreckage and recorded the scene, with her crying audible in the background. The post accompanying the video states that the boy left the house after the destruction, and asks viewers, “If your child did this, how would you feel?”
Many netizens expressed concern, with some saying, “As a social worker, I’d recommend calling the police,” or suggesting the boy might have severe mental health issues. Others questioned the plausibility of the situation: “How could a 12-year-old have the strength to destroy an entire apartment?” The majority of online viewers believe the incident took place in Nigeria, though the exact date and location of the video have not been confirmed.
