15 Injured In Bus-Lorry Crash In Rawang, Traffic Jam Stretches 7km

A collision involving a bus and a lorry in Rawang early this morning left 15 people injured and caused severe traffic congestion stretching more than 7km after all lanes were blocked.

The Fire and Rescue Department said that as of 8.55am, five individuals who were trapped in the vehicles — four bus passengers and the lorry driver — had been successfully rescued and taken to hospital.

The bus was carrying 42 people, including two drivers. A total of 26 passengers escaped without injuries, while 15 others were injured and rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment. Three of the injured victims are reported to be in the Red Zone.

In a Facebook post, PLUS Malaysia advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid the accident area.

“Heavy vehicles are advised to exit at the Bukit Beruntung toll plaza, while light vehicles should exit at the Sungai Buaya toll plaza.

“Please give way to emergency response teams heading to the scene and follow the instructions of on-site personnel,” the statement said.
