17-Year-Old Accused of Killing Mother and Brother Wants to Retake SPM and See Younger Sibling

Date:

A 17-year-old Malaysian boy accused of killing his mother and elder brother has expressed a wish to sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination again and to reunite with his younger sibling, according to reports.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the teenager shared his hopes through his lawyer during a recent court appearance in Melaka. He was said to have asked about the wellbeing of his younger brother and expressed a desire to see him before Chinese New Year. The teen also conveyed his intention to continue his education despite facing two murder charges.

The case stems from a tragic family dispute that took place last year at their home. The teenager, who was then a Form Five student, was arrested following the deaths of his mother and elder brother. His younger brother survived the incident and was later placed in the care of relatives.
