37-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Trapped in Stone Grinder in Sarawak

A 37-year-old man tragically died yesterday morning after becoming trapped in a stone grinding machine at a road tar processing factory along Jalan Express Way.

The victim, Syahmizi Abu Bakar, was confirmed dead at the scene at around 9:30 AM.

According to a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre (PGO JBPM), the department received an emergency call at 9:40 AM. Six firefighters from the Kota Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found Syahmizi trapped in the fan section of the stone grinder. Initial attempts to loosen the machine’s bolts failed, but with assistance from on-site workers, the team finally extricated the victim at 11:33 AM.

Medical personnel from the Ministry of Health confirmed the death at the scene. The body was later handed over to the police for further investigation.
