A 41-year-old grass cutter pleaded guilty today at the Sessions Court to committing incest with his 25-year-old sister at their Machang home last week.
The accused admitted to the charge before Judge Tengku Shahrizan Tuan Lah, which stated that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with his sister, a relationship legally prohibited from marriage.
The incident occurred on December 17 at 10:30 a.m. inside their home in Machang.
He faces charges under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which carries a prison term of 10 to 30 years and caning upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Syafiqah Mohamad represented the prosecution, while the accused appeared without legal counsel.
Bail was not offered, as the offence is non-bailable. The court also cited risks to the victim as a reason for denying bail, and scheduled sentencing for January 21.
