Albert Tei Back in Court Over Alleged Payoff of RM64,924 Bribe to PM’s Ex-Aide

Businessman Albert Tei was once again brought before the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur, where he was charged with offering a RM64,924 bribe to former Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

The payment was allegedly made to secure assistance in obtaining approval for a mineral exploration licence in Sabah.

Tei, 37, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read before Judge Datuk Mohd Nasir Nordin.

“I understand the charge. I plead not guilty and claim trial,” he told the court.
