Anwar Offers RM5,000 Aid, Temporary Shelter To Family Of Three Killed In Tambun House Fire

Date:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his condolences to the family of three victims killed in a house fire at Persiaran Desa Tambun 4, Taman Desa Tambun, Tambun, on Sunday.

Tambun MP’s special officer, Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, said Anwar conveyed his condolences to the family during a phone call.

“The Prime Minister also handed over RM5,000 to the family to help ease their burden following the tragedy.

“He conveyed his condolences to the family and asked the service centre to provide whatever assistance it could to help them with the arrangements,” he said.

Mohamad Hairul Amir said the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) would visit the fire site tomorrow to assess the extent of the damage and determine the assistance needed for repair works.

He said the service centre would also look into providing temporary accommodation if required, as repairs to the house could take some time.

“Looking at the condition of the house, the repairs may take a long time. So, through the service centre, we will help provide a place for them to stay temporarily while the repair work is carried out.

“We will also discuss with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and relevant agencies the appropriate forms of assistance, including the possibility of counselling services for affected family members,” he said.

Mohamad Hairul Amir added that the service centre would assist the family with arrangements for the remains of the three victims.
