Eight Injured After Car Crashes Into Bangkok Convenience Store

Date:

Eight people were injured after a car crashed into a convenience store in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district on Tuesday night, according to local reports.

The incident occurred at around 10.50pm along Bowon Niwet Road in the Bang Lamphu area. The vehicle was driven by a 57-year-old woman identified only as Natcha, who was also injured in the crash.

Authorities said the car first collided with a tuk-tuk and a roadside noodle stall before slamming into the convenience store. The impact left significant damage to the storefront and surrounding area.

Police and media reports indicated that two store employees, three Thai nationals and two German tourists were among those injured in the incident, bringing the total number of casualties to eight.

Images from the scene showed an electric vehicle partially lodged inside the shop, with shattered glass, damaged walls and scattered goods inside the premises.

Witnesses told police that the driver had allegedly circled a nearby roundabout at high speed twice before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into the shop.

The driver reportedly told authorities that she lost control of the car, although the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation by police.
