A nine-year-old girl was killed while four others were injured in a collision involving two cars at Jalan Charok Pelandok in Sik yesterday.
The crash involved a Perodua Bezza carrying three occupants, including two children aged two and nine, and a Proton Persona carrying two people.
The nine-year-old passenger in the Perodua Bezza was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Health Ministry.
Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Sik chief officer Assistant Superintendent of Fire Mohd Jamil Mat Daud said seven firefighters were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 2.32pm.
He said the deceased’s body was handed over to police for further action.
Two other passengers from the same vehicle, a woman in her 40s and a two-year-old child, were sent to Sik Hospital for treatment.
An elderly couple in the Proton Persona who were also injured were taken to the same hospital for further treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
