Five-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Slashed To Death At Sibu House

A boy believed to be around five years old died after he was allegedly slashed in an incident at a house in Jalan Rantau Panjang Jaya here on Friday afternoon.

Sibu district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said a man in his late 40s, who is believed to have a family connection with the child, has been arrested to assist with investigations.

However, police have not disclosed further details, including the motive behind the incident.

“So far, we have conducted preliminary investigations at the scene,” he said briefly when approached by reporters.

The child was taken to the Emergency Department at Sibu Hospital following the incident but was later pronounced dead.

Police investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
