GOF Seizes 210kg Of Ganja After 10km High-Speed Chase In Kelantan

Date:

The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 210kg of ganja worth more than RM700,000 and arrested a man following a 10km high-speed chase in Kelantan on Monday evening.

GOF Southeast Brigade commander Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the incident occurred at about 8.30pm when patrol units spotted a Proton Saga behaving suspiciously.

He said officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off, triggering a pursuit that lasted around 10km before the suspect was successfully detained.

A search of the car led to the discovery of several brown boxes containing the suspected drugs.

The 35-year-old man, along with the seized narcotics, was handed over to the Pasir Mas district police headquarters for further action.

Ahmad Radzi said the suspect is believed to be a drug courier who was paid RM3,500 to transport the substances.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
