“He Had No Neck at All” Family’s Shocking Discovery Turns Alleged Heart Attack Into Murder Investigation

Date:

A 51-year-old engineer from Connecticut, Shane DeJongh, was found dead at his home in October 2023 — a day after drinking with friends. What was first ruled as a natural death has now taken a dark turn, as his family insists he was murdered. Two years later, his death remains unsolved, but the family has filed a lawsuit against his former girlfriend and others, hoping justice will finally be served.

According to The Hartford Courant, Shane was discovered dead in his home on October 6, 2023, and authorities initially listed his cause of death as a heart attack. But when his family saw his body, they immediately knew something was wrong — his neck was so swollen that it looked as if he “had no neck at all.”

Their suspicions were confirmed after an autopsy revealed multiple bruises on Shane’s head, abrasions on his ears, bleeding in his brain and neck, and a fractured thyroid cartilage — all signs of blunt force trauma. The medical examiner concluded that Shane died from cardiac arrhythmia triggered by head and neck injuries, compounded by hypertension and heart disease. The official cause of death was changed to homicide.

Before his death, Shane had just landed a new job and was planning to move to Georgia with his girlfriend, Natasha Vadasz. Her home in Cheshire had been listed for sale, and the night before his death, Shane reportedly went out drinking with a real estate agent. He was found the next morning lying on the bed, still dressed in the same clothes from the night before.

In March this year, Shane’s family filed a civil lawsuit against Natasha, and last week, they added another unnamed defendant. The family declined to reveal who it was but stated, “We know who’s responsible. Something definitely happened that night… and the only person hurt was Shane.”

As of now, two years after his mysterious death, no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues — leaving his loved ones still searching for answers and justice.
