Head-On Collision In Lawas Leaves Three Injured, One Trapped

Three people were injured following a head-on collision involving two vehicles along Jalan Trusan Lawas near Kampung Belunat on Tuesday night.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call regarding the crash at 9.58pm before dispatching firefighters from the Lawas station to the scene, located about 14 kilometres away. The team, led by senior fire officer II Awang Zamri Tahil, arrived at 10.13pm.

According to a department spokesperson, the crash involved four individuals in total, including an adult male who escaped without injuries, an adult woman and a young girl who sustained injuries, and another male driver who was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

The injured woman and child were transported to hospital by a Health Ministry ambulance for further treatment. Firefighters then conducted rescue operations to extricate the trapped driver from the wreckage.

The man was later taken to hospital by an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit.

Bomba concluded its operation at 11.32pm after ensuring the scene was safe and all victims had been accounted for.
