A load of iron piles fell from a lorry and struck the front-right side of a car at the Jalan Kapar-Persiaran Hamzah Alang intersection in Klang on Saturday.
Klang Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol said the incident happened at about 4.25pm and involved a lorry and a car.
He said preliminary investigations found that the lorry, driven by a man in his 40s, was travelling from Jalan Kapar towards Meru.
“While making a left turn, a technical problem occurred at the rear of the lorry, causing the iron piles to fall onto the road and hit the front-right side of a car driven by a woman in her 40s,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
A video of the incident later went viral on social media, showing traffic congestion believed to have been caused by the lorry carrying the iron piles.
Ramsay said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as well as Rules 94 and 170/59.
