A Road Transport Department (JPJ) officer and five agents have been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Perak to assist investigations into the alleged submission of forged documents for vehicle ownership transfers.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Norizan Riduan at the Ipoh Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday involving seven men and four women aged between 30 and 40.
The court allowed all 11 suspects to be remanded until Monday to facilitate further investigations under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for allegedly submitting false documents.
All the suspects were detained after turning up to give statements at the Perak MACC office at around 10pm on Tuesday.
A source said preliminary investigations found that the suspects allegedly conspired to submit falsified documents involving ownership transfers linked to 16 vehicle registration numbers.
The alleged offences are believed to have taken place in 2025, when the agents reportedly colluded with a civil servant to submit invalid documents.
“The forged documents were used to facilitate vehicle ownership transfers through unlawful means,” the source said.
The investigation is ongoing.
