KPDN Receives 34 Complaints on BUDI95 System Failures at Petrol Stations

Date:

A total of 34 complaints have been received by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) regarding technical issues with the system used at petrol stations for motorists claiming the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) fuel subsidy.

Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the number of complaints remained low and mainly involved two types of issues — system disruptions and temporary outages.

“There were a few isolated cases where system disruptions occurred, and in some instances, the system was temporarily down. For cases involving system errors, petrol stations have provided refunds to affected users,” she said during a parliamentary session today.

She was responding to a supplementary question from Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN–Tampin), who asked about public complaints over difficulties in obtaining BUDI95 at petrol stations and what forms of compensation users could expect when such issues arise.

Dr Fuziah explained that in cases where the system is temporarily down, users can still claim the BUDI95 subsidy manually at the counter.

“At the counter, there’s a SARA terminal (Sumbangan Asas Rahmah) system available, which verifies users’ identification cards directly through the Finance Ministry (MOF) system,” she said.

She added that petrol station operators have taken full responsibility to ensure users are not burdened and continue to receive their entitled fuel subsidies.
