Man Drives Car Onto Railway Tracks While Travelling Home From KL

Date:

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is investigating after a 60-year-old man drove his car onto railway tracks at a station along Jalan Limbungan in Klang late on Sunday night.

Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Lim Jit Huey said the incident occurred at about 11.40pm as the man was travelling home from Kuala Lumpur.

The driver reportedly entered the railway tracks and continued for about 130 metres before reaching the station.

Lim said KTMB personnel managed to remove the vehicle from the area at about 1.40am.

The case is being investigated by KTMB under Section 62 of the Railways Act.

The incident drew attention after a video showing an SUV on railway tracks at a train station went viral on social media. The footage was accompanied by claims that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, although the claim was not confirmed in the statement.
