Man Found Beaten to Death And Left to Rot in Bathtub For 10 Days Before Being Found

Date:

A decomposing body of Marvin Dickson, 40, was discovered coiled in a bathtub at a north London home after neighbours reported a “dreadful smell.” Dickson, last seen over a week earlier, had been captured on CCTV carrying a takeaway pizza box in the early hours.

Police later found Dickson dead in a boarded-up, padlocked property. A post-mortem revealed he died from severe blunt force trauma to the left side of his head. The investigation revealed that 36-year-old Dante Forrest had beaten him to death and left his body to rot.

Evidence, including a blood-stained pizza box and hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, linked Forrest to the crime. Detectives also found Forrest wearing Dickson’s trainers days after the murder.

Forrest was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Old Bailey, with a minimum term of 22 years. Detective Inspector Mark Johnson from the Met’s Specialist Crime Unit said the verdict offers some closure to Dickson’s family, who expressed their sorrow but gratitude that justice was served.

Dickson’s family stated, “No verdict can ever bring him back or ease the sadness we carry every day, but we are grateful that justice has been delivered.”
