Man Killed In Roadside Attack Over Alleged Relationship With Another Man’s Wife

A 33-year-old man was found dead in a bushy area in Belawa, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, after allegedly being involved in a dispute linked to a married woman, according to local authorities.

The victim, identified as IR, was discovered by residents over the weekend. Police confirmed that the body bore multiple stab wounds, indicating a violent attack.

Investigators later arrested a 32-year-old suspect, Rahmat Latte, from Limpurilau village, Belawa District, who is believed to be involved in the killing. A traditional blade known as a badik, allegedly used in the attack, was also seized.

Wajo Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief, Iptu Fahrul, said the victim was attacked along a road after the suspect confronted him over his alleged relationship with the suspect’s wife.

He said IR was repeatedly stabbed in the stomach during the confrontation and died at the scene.

Police added that further investigations are ongoing as the suspect remains in custody at the Wajo Police headquarters.
