MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm Warning For Seven States, KL

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong wind warning affecting seven states and Kuala Lumpur until 7pm today.

The warning covers the entire state of Kelantan, while several districts in Perak are also affected, including Batang Padang, Muallim, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Perak Tengah, Larut Matang and Selama.

Other areas in Perak under the warning are Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk.

In Terengganu, the alert covers Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu and Marang.

Several districts in Pahang are also affected, namely Lipis, Cameron Highlands, Rompin, Raub, Bentong, Jerantut and Temerloh.

The warning extends to parts of Selangor, including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Petaling.

In Johor, the affected districts are Kluang, Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Segamat.

Kuala Lumpur is also included in the weather warning, with residents and motorists advised to remain alert as thunderstorms and heavy rain can develop rapidly.

The public is encouraged to monitor MetMalaysia’s latest updates and exercise caution, particularly when travelling or carrying out outdoor activities in affected areas.
