Mystery Death Of IPTS Student Sparks Murder Investigation

A female student from a private higher education institution (IPTS) was found dead in a condominium unit in Bandar Sunway on Tuesday, prompting police to launch a murder investigation.

Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent M Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said authorities received information regarding the incident at approximately 11.03am before a team of officers was dispatched to the scene.

Initial examinations revealed that the victim, believed to be in her 20s, had died before police arrived. Investigators also discovered several injuries on her body, raising suspicions of foul play.

Following the discovery, police detained a foreign man, also believed to be in his 20s, at the same location to assist with ongoing investigations.

A forensic team conducted a detailed examination of the scene and seized several items believed to be relevant to the case. The evidence collected is expected to play a key role in determining the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.

Police said the motive behind the incident has yet to be established and investigations are currently being carried out under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The victim’s body has been sent to the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem examination scheduled to take place on Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have appealed to members of the public who may have information related to the case to come forward and assist investigators. Police also urged the public to refrain from spreading speculation or unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.

The tragic incident has drawn significant public attention, with investigators continuing efforts to uncover the events leading up to the woman’s death.
