Nurse Dies After Suspected Electric Shock From Water Heater At Home

A 46-year-old nurse has died after allegedly suffering an electric shock believed to have originated from a water heater at her home in Machang on Monday. The incident has raised fresh concerns over household electrical safety and the risks posed by faulty appliances.

The victim, identified as Habibi Hussin, was a nurse serving at Hospital Tanah Merah and is survived by two children. Her sudden passing has shocked colleagues and the local community, highlighting the dangers that can arise within domestic environments.

The incident is believed to have taken place at her residence, where she was reportedly exposed to the electrical current. Details surrounding the exact cause are still limited, but initial indications point towards the water heater as the source.

Kelantan State Health Department director Datuk Dr Mohd Azman Yacob confirmed the incident when contacted. He said the victim was pronounced dead at Hospital Machang at approximately 3.50pm.

Authorities are expected to look into the circumstances of the case, as such tragedies underline the importance of regular maintenance and safety checks for electrical appliances in homes.
