The Pahang State Health Department (JKNP) has dismissed viral claims circulating on social media alleging that the Hemodialysis Unit at Bentong Hospital has been shut down, assuring the public that the facility remains fully operational.
In a statement issued on Sunday, JKNP confirmed that the unit continues to function as usual, with dialysis treatments being carried out according to schedule and without any disruption to patient services.
The department acknowledged the concerns raised by members of the public, particularly patients and their families who rely on regular haemodialysis treatment. However, it stressed that the claims being shared online are false and based on unverified information.
JKNP urged the public not to believe or spread unconfirmed reports, reminding everyone to obtain updates only through the official communication channels of Bentong Hospital, the Pahang State Health Department or the Ministry of Health (MOH).
The department also reaffirmed its commitment to providing the best possible healthcare services to the community and said any future developments would be communicated through its official platforms.
The clarification comes as authorities continue to combat the spread of misinformation online, emphasising the importance of verifying information before sharing it, especially when it concerns essential public healthcare services.
