The body of a man who fell from Sultan Nazrin Shah Bridge here yesterday was found floating about 7km from the location of the incident this morning.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Datuk Sayani Saidon said the victim, Mohd Nor Ferdaus Mohd Mokhtar, 42, was discovered by the search and rescue (SAR) team which continued operations earlier today.
“The victim was found floating by the SAR team and brought ashore for confirmation by the Health Ministry regarding his death status,” he said.
The incident was reported yesterday after authorities received a call regarding the man’s fall from the bridge at about 11.36am.
On the same day, the fire department also received information from police at around 7.15pm regarding another incident involving a woman and a child who fell from the same bridge.
The woman, Lim Li Yin, 38, was later found but was pronounced dead at Bagan Datuk Health Clinic before her body was sent to Teluk Intan Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the child, Wong Long Hee, aged two, remains missing as the search operation continues.
Authorities are continuing efforts to locate the missing child while investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
