The suspect accused of injuring a female teacher in an alleged attack at an international school in Sarawak on Wednesday remains in hospital as police continue their investigation.
Sarawak acting Police Commissioner Deputy Commissioner Saifullizan Ishak said investigators would take the suspect’s medical condition into account, including advice and assessments from medical officers, as they proceed with the case.
He stressed that the investigation would be conducted professionally, carefully and thoroughly, with all relevant statements and evidence taken into consideration.
“Any further action will be taken based on the facts obtained and the provisions of the law,” he said in a statement on Friday.
Saifullizan added that police had recorded statements from 24 individuals to assist with the investigation so far.
He also urged the public to respect the privacy of everyone involved and refrain from sharing identities, photographs or personal information, particularly those of minors.
On Oct 21, Saifullizan confirmed that a female teacher had been injured in an alleged attack by a Form Four male student at an international school in Sarawak.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1) of the Explosives Act 1957.
