Seven individuals were arrested for drug-related offences during the ‘Op Tapis Khas’ operation conducted in Serian between June 28 and 30.
Serian district police chief Supt Freddy Bian Stanislaus Bian said two local suspects, a man and a woman, were detained in separate raids in Serian town for alleged drug possession.
Police also seized three Eramine 5 pills and 0.7g of suspected syabu (methamphetamine) during the operations.
He said both suspects are being investigated under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
In a separate enforcement effort, five other individuals were arrested for alleged drug abuse in operations carried out at Kampung Balai Ringin, Kampung Lebor and Kampung Rimba Padi.
All five are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
Freddy Bian advised the public to stay away from drug abuse activities, warning that strict action will be taken against those involved.
He also reminded that repeat offenders face harsher penalties under existing drug laws, and urged the public to channel information on drug-related activities to the police.
