Thick Haze In Johor Leaves Motorists Struggling To See The Road

Date:

Thick haze blanketed Simpang Renggam, Johor, on Thursday morning, severely reducing visibility and raising concerns over road safety as motorists struggled to see the road ahead.

The situation was highlighted by Threads user @rafidanamy, who shared a video believed to have been recorded at about 7.35am on Thursday.

The footage showed the road almost disappearing behind the dense haze, with only streetlights and vehicle headlights faintly visible in the distance.

“Where is this? I can barely recognise the road in Simpang Renggam because the haze is so thick,” one user, Izza, commented.

Another user, Syue, expressed alarm over the conditions and urged road users to exercise caution, particularly motorcyclists.

“My God, this is really bad. You can barely see what’s ahead. Everyone, please be careful, especially those riding motorcycles,” she wrote.

A separate commenter, Shah, voiced concerns over children travelling to school amid the poor visibility, appealing to van and bus drivers, parents and other motorists to remain safe on the roads.

Meanwhile, another social media post showed similarly hazy conditions around Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, where visibility along the highway also appeared limited.

One user, Ros, jokingly compared the thick haze to the misty surroundings of Genting Highlands.

“Wow, are we driving to Port Dickson or Genting Highlands?” the user quipped.
