Thirteen-Year-Old Girl Reported Missing Following Family Dispute In Bandar Baru Ampang

Date:

A search is currently underway for a 13-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Bandar Baru Ampang yesterday. The teenager, identified as Nur Sofea Haton Abdul Hafiz, was reported missing by her family following an alleged misunderstanding at their residence. According to local authorities, the girl is believed to have left the premises of her own accord, taking a suitcase with her after the disagreement occurred.

Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid, the Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, stated that the girl’s father first noticed her absence at approximately 7.00 pm. After initial attempts to locate her proved unsuccessful, the family filed a formal police report at 12.12 am today. Investigations are now focused on tracing her current whereabouts and ensuring her safe return to her guardians.

Official descriptions provided by the police indicate that Nur Sofea Haton stands at approximately 160 centimetres tall and weighs about 56 kilograms. She is described as having a slim build and a tanned complexion. Law enforcement agencies have disseminated these details to the public to assist in the identification and recovery of the minor, who remains vulnerable due to her age.

The public is urged to come forward with any information regarding the teenager’s location by contacting the nearest police station or the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters Control Centre at 03-42897222. Alternatively, individuals may reach out directly to the investigating officer, Inspector Nur Alia Dyana Raimi, at 017-6515201. Prompt communication of any sightings is essential for the ongoing search efforts.

In light of this incident, Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar has advised parents and guardians to maintain close supervision over their children’s movements. He emphasised the importance of open communication within families to prevent such occurrences and reminded the public that any emergencies should be reported immediately via the MERS 999 hotline. The police continue to prioritise the safety of minors and are working closely with the community to resolve the case.
