Two civil servants working for the Health Ministry were detained after they were allegedly found in close proximity at their office in the Wisma Kerajaan building here on Thursday afternoon.
According to a source, the man and woman were detained at around 4pm after they were allegedly found together inside a pantry at the department’s office.
The source said the pair were believed to have been inside the pantry with the door locked, prompting enforcement officers from the Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department to force the door open.
“When the door was opened, one of them tried to run into their office but was spotted by enforcement officers at the scene,” the source said.
The source added that their actions had allegedly been noticed by other staff members, who claimed the pair had frequently entered the pantry together without an apparent reason over the past three months.
The status of the case and any further action against the pair has yet to be confirmed.
