Two Technicians Sacked After Viral Dashcam Footage Shows Abuse And Vaping In Customer’s Car

Date:

Two car technicians have been dismissed from their positions at a local dealership after dashcam recordings of them insulting a client and vaping inside a vehicle went viral. The footage, which has sparked widespread outrage on Malaysian social media, captured the employees expressing blatant dissatisfaction and directed profanities toward the car owner.

The recording revealed one technician ranting about the frequency of the owner’s service visits, even after his colleague pointed out that the dashcam was recording them. During the exchange, the technician was heard taunting the camera, using derogatory terms such as “pergi mampus” (go die) and “babi kau” (you pig). Subsequent footage from the same vehicle showed a technician vaping inside the cabin before proceeding to manually turn off the recording device.

Following the public outcry, the dealership issued a series of statements to address the misconduct. On 15 March, the management confirmed they had initiated an internal review and reached out to the affected customer to resolve the matter amicably. The company emphasized its commitment to professional service and requested that the public refrain from further speculation while investigations were underway.

In a follow-up press statement released on 16 March, the company announced that the two technicians responsible for the incident are no longer employed by the firm. The dealership confirmed that a thorough internal investigation led to the immediate termination of the staff involved. They also extended a formal apology to the customer for the unpleasant experience and ensured that the vehicle underwent a full inspection and necessary rectifications.

The dealership reiterated that customer trust and service quality remain their highest priorities following the incident. “We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accountability in all aspects of our operations,” the statement read. The swift disciplinary action was taken to restore confidence in the brand’s service standards after the breach of ethics was brought to light.
