Unlicensed Driver Crashes Into Home in Hulu Terengganu

Date:

A house in Hulu Terengganu was heavily damaged after a car lost control and crashed directly into it, leaving both the building and the vehicle severely wrecked.

Hulu Terengganu district police chief, Superintendent Sharudin Abdul Wahab, said the incident occurred around 8.30pm on 23 December when a 21-year-old Proton Preve driver was travelling from Telemong towards Tanjung Putat.

Investigations revealed that the car suddenly skidded to the left side of the road before smashing into a house in Kampung Chepoh, causing parts of the roof and walls to collapse. The driver sustained injuries to his face and head and was taken to Hulu Terengganu Hospital for initial treatment before being referred to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ).

Further checks showed that the driver did not possess a valid driving licence. The vehicle will be sent to the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) for inspection, and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
