A recreational outing turned fatal after a woman died when the raft she was riding in overturned during a water rafting activity at Sungai Pertak, Kuala Kubu Bharu, on Saturday.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Superintendent Manimaran Muniandy said police received a report on the incident at about 3.15pm.
Preliminary investigations found that the raft carrying the victim overturned while she was taking part in the activity, causing her to be swept away by the strong current.
A team from the Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at about 3.30pm to conduct a search and rescue operation.
The woman was found around 45 minutes later, at about 4.15pm.
However, she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel at 5.37pm.
Police have advised visitors to recreational and picnic spots in Hulu Selangor to remain alert and prioritise their safety, particularly when taking part in water-based activities.
