Police are hunting a woman who allegedly kicked an auxiliary policeman in the groin after he confronted her for driving against traffic near a shopping complex in Damansara on Thursday.
Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said the suspect had been identified and was believed to be on the run.
He said the incident occurred at 8.38am while the 30-year-old auxiliary policeman was on duty.
The officer had noticed a Hyundai Inokom parked facing the wrong direction, with its driver allegedly honking at other vehicles without reason.
When he approached the woman and advised her to move the vehicle, she allegedly responded with an obscene gesture, Hoo said.
The woman then got out of the vehicle and attempted to attack the officer before kicking him in the groin.
The auxiliary policeman sought assistance from other personnel as he struggled with the woman and attempted to restrain her, but she managed to flee.
Hoo said efforts to track down the suspect were ongoing.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour.
