Worker Suffers 30% Burns in Taman Pagoh Jaya Gas Explosion

A 51-year-old cleaning worker sustained burns after a gas explosion at a house in Taman Pagoh Jaya last night.

The incident occurred around 8pm, and the victim was rushed to Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah (HPSF) for further treatment.

Pagoh Fire and Rescue Operations Commander Nor Alfattah Omar said the department received an emergency call at 8.54pm and dispatched seven personnel to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a kitchen appliance on fire inside the house.

“The incident caused burns over 30 percent of the victim’s body. The fire was extinguished by members of the public before the fire team arrived. The injured victim was then transported to HPSF by ambulance,” he said in a statement.

The operation concluded at 9.35pm, while the cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
