Malaysia is aiming to create 1.2 million new job opportunities over the next five years—700,000 in the manufacturing sector and 500,000 in the digital economy—as part of its efforts under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the initiative while tabling the 13MP, adding that several new measures will be introduced to boost youth participation in the workforce.
These include the launch of the Skim Pembiayaan Perkasa TVET Madani and the TVET Training Fund to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.
He also highlighted plans to expand TVET opportunities to tahfiz students, with the aim of developing Madani huffaz technocrats—graduates who are not only grounded in religious studies but also equipped with technical skills.
