All schools in Malaysia, including international schools, religious schools, and those following the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) system, will be required to offer Malay Language and History as subjects in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this move aims to settle controversies surrounding the national language and ensure that issues related to public university entry requirements will no longer arise.
He made the announcement during the launch of the National Education Plan 2026–2035 held today.
