Applications Open for 2026 Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship to Foster Future Leaders

Date:

The Public Service Department (JPA) has announced that applications for the prestigious 2026 Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship are officially open, with online submissions accepted until March 6.

Known as the King’s Scholarship, the programme aims to develop world-class academic and professional leaders, targeting individuals who excel holistically—academically, in extracurricular involvement, leadership, and dedication to national development.

Interested Malaysians can apply via the official JPA portal at https://penajaan.jpa.gov.my. After completing the online form, applicants must print, sign, and submit it with supporting documents to JPA by hand or post no later than March 13.

The scholarship is open to full-time postgraduate studies, including Research Master’s or PhD programmes at top local or international universities. Priority fields include Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Law, Islamic Finance, and Artificial Intelligence—areas deemed crucial for national progress.

Civil servants are also eligible under the general conditions of the existing Study Leave scheme. For inquiries, applicants may contact 03-8885 3569, 3438, 3879, or 3571, or email penawaranldp@jpa.gov.my. Completed applications should be addressed to the Director-General of Public Service in Putrajaya.
